Metro Motor Puts the Brakes on Breast Cancer

This October, Metro Motor is proud to join independent auto repair shops across the country for Brakes for Breasts, a nationwide fundraising effort supporting breast cancer vaccine research.

Throughout the entire month of October, customers at all Metro Motor auto repair locations can receive free brake pads when they have qualifying brake service performed. Customers pay for the labor and any additional parts needed for the brake repair, while Metro Motor donates 10% of the brake service to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund.

Brakes for Breasts brings together independent auto repair shops across the nation each October. The program was founded in 2011 by two independent repair shop owners in Ohio and has grown into a nationwide effort supporting research led by Dr. Vincent Tuohy and his team at Cleveland Clinic.

Since its founding, the program has raised more than $2.4 million for breast cancer vaccine research, including nearly $293,000 raised by participating shops in 2025 alone.

The research focuses on developing vaccines designed to help prevent breast cancer before it develops. According to Brakes for Breasts, the vaccine research program has completed Phase 1a, 1b and 1c clinical trials, with Phase 2 expected to open in 2027.

How does Brakes for Breasts work at Metro Motor?

If your vehicle needs brake pads this October, Metro Motor can help you take advantage of the Brakes for Breasts program. Here’s how it works:

1. Bring your vehicle to any Metro Motor auto repair location during October.
2. If your vehicle needs new brake pads, the brake pads are free as part of the Brakes for Breasts program.
3. You pay for the labor and any additional parts required for the repair, such as rotors or other necessary brake components.
4. Metro Motor will donate 10% of the qualifying brake service to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund.

So while we're keeping your vehicle safe on the road, we're also helping support research that could make breast cancer prevention a reality.
