Lubrication & Fuel Deposit Control

Vehicle maintenance is just part of having a vehicle. We all know that. What most of us know less about is exactly WHY things like fluids need to be topped off, or completely flushed and changed at regular intervals. Isn’t that just something that the oil companies and dealers make you believe so that you’ll spend money?

Actually, no. There is a lot more to it than that.

Take your engine oil, for instance. It works really hard in all kinds of weather and under all kinds of performance stress (depending on things like driver, road conditions, load, tire inflation, and the condition of other engine parts). It gets heated, contaminated, gunked up, and still is expected to keep your engine from melting, as if it were brand new, clean, and flowing freely. Hence, the importance of the oil change.

Asking for an “oil change, lube and filter” as part of your vehicle maintenance routine, has become almost as familiar as asking for a combo meal at the drive-thru. But how many of us really understand what happens to the engine oil (working under extreme conditions) between oil changes? Most people never really think about it. That’s why Metro Motor is here.

One of the things that results from engine oil getting put to hard use over and over again is oxidation. This is why it needs to be changed on a regular basis. When engine oil oxidizes it produces harmful sludge. These sludgy deposits can damage other systems in your car by reducing engine cooling, accelerating wear on engine components, and clogging up passages necessary for proper oil circulation and lubrication. As this abrasive sludgy material accumulates inside the engine, it begins to destroy bearings and leads to leaky seals.

Deposits form in the oil and fuel injectors and combustion chambers over time. This service helps eliminate the build-up of fuel and oil deposits between oil changes.

As if this weren’t enough, dirty oxidized oil reduces the efficiency of the fuel pump and filters - and that can lead to costly fuel injector failure. Higher tailpipe emissions and poor fuel economy are the final blows struck by the build up of unwanted deposits in your engine oil.

Here’s the good news.

We recommend and provide BG vehicle protection additives and treatments like BG MOA and BG CFS to inhibit deposit build-up and help maintain a clean fuel system between oil changes. Contact us for an appointment at Metro Motor. Just say, “I’ll have a BG treatment with my oil change combo!”
